Friday 18th October 2019
School will be closed for INSET day, students do not need to come in, please make alternative arrangements.
Can I remind all parents/carers to park in the appropriate spaces outside the school grounds. The blocking of any school gate causes a major issue, in terms of safety and in line with the Highway Code, a vehicle must not park in an area with zig-zag lines or yellow lines.
If you are asked to move, please do so immediately and without verbal abuse of our staff, members of the local community or traffic wardens.
A CCTV camera is in place on Dormers Wells Lane and regular traffic warden patrols will issue parents with fines, if cars are parked illegally. This includes parking on the pavement, as well as parking across dropped kerbs, single or double yellow lines.
We all need to work together to ensure the safety of all Infant and Junior pupils, at the beginning and end of the school day. We have signs placed outside the school and staff wearing High Visibility jackets daily, to help ensure the safety of your child/children.
We would encourage all parents/carers to walk their children to school and where use of a car is unavoidable, to park further away from the school or in a safe place.

Start of the school year
In order to successfully join the two schools together, all school staff will be undertaking a week’s training in September, to thoroughly prepare for opening as one school: Dormers Wells Primary.
All Year 1 to Year 6 pupils will be welcomed back on Monday 9th September 2019 at 8:50 am, to begin our exciting new journey, as one school. You need to ensure your child is on the school site, before 8:50am, but no earlier than 8.40am.
If your child is starting school in our Nursery or Reception, your child's exact start date and time is detailed in the letter you received, at the New Parents' Welcome Meetings, on the 11th July 2019.
